Every visit to Texas includes a little detour to Mercedes, Texas to visit my sweet Grandmother, Angelita. To Isabella and Abigail she's GG. She's staying with my Tia Carmen, so an added bonus is spending time at a home that brought us so many memories as a child.
When we were children our families were very close, my Aunt & Uncle had three children. Rachel who was a few years older than I, and the twins who were right around my age. I would relish the opportunity to visit them or have them visit us, it was always an adventure. We were basically raised in a hammock similar to the one my sister is in. My Aunt would put me and the twin in there, tie it up and let us swing. I am sure that wouldn't fly with today's standards of over protection. They have always had fresh produce in their homes, from oranges to papaya's. My Aunt is a self taught culinary master of Mexican Cuisine. We secretly hope that when we stop by there is something cooking, because it's sure to be good!
Isabella even got to bring home her very own custom made hair bows.
