Does Isabella have a future in cosmetology?

I was getting lunch ready and when I went to check on the girls this is what I found. Along with the crime scene evidence I found Abigail in Isabella's lap with Isabella holding the scissors. My initial reaction was to grab my camera while laughing out load, but I restrained myself and waited until after the lecture.

She ended up cutting the little pony I had gathering the top of her hair, so it could have looked a lot worse.

What do you think?  Does she have a future in cosmetology?

I don't think so.

Poor Abigail, it's going to be a while before this grows out.

My little chef

Isabella made a mean pizza at her friend Vivian's birthday party last Saturday. It was short and sweet just the way parties should be.

I felt our little peanut!!!

I am sitting in front of the computer watching a video, when I felt those familiar little flutters. We are one day short of 15 weeks.  I haven't had much time to lament this growing life inside me.  Perhaps it's that this is my third time or that I now have two children to care for, regardless I am so happy that these sweet moments are here.

Chicken drama leads to Isabella feeding a goat

As many of you know, in the past year I have begun keeping backyard chickens as a hobby.  The first five chickens that I started with created lots of drama. After the second one died and we discovered that the third was a rooster, I decided that it might be best to start from scratch (raise chicks).

At the farm we visited to buy some chicks, Isabella got to feed a goat and I ended up with 5 chicks that were "suppose to be hens".  A few months later, after awakening yet again to to crow of a rooster, I realized that three of my "hens" were roosters.  It is illegal for us to have roosters in Sandy Springs, so I am not too happy about this outcome.  We're only buying grown hens from now on.

2 + 1 = 3....Oh My!!!!

Yeap.....there is no doubt about it.  A third baby is on the way with a due date of January 11, 2013.  We knew we wanted more children, but the timing came to us as a bit of a surprise.  I had felt sort of funny, and while I was at the Dollar Tree, I picked up a pregnancy test (yes they really are $1.00).  The picture above is the result of our first clearly positive test.

We're excited, although we're realizing that our lives are sort of built for a family of four:  We're having to look at getting a new car (although there is a mom at our preschool that fits triplets in a Prius); new sleeping arrangements are necessary; and what do I do when three children what to cuddle at the same time.  I have faith that it will all resolve itself.  After all, we live in an a society that has so much unnecessary stuff and in other societies, the average family size is much larger, and most likely have much less.

We told Isabella and Abigail a little after 10 weeks, and to our surprise Isabella knew what an ultrasound picture was.  The video is below and although the quality has much to be desired, you can still hear it.

We have had two ultrasounds and the most recent was done at 12 weeks.  I saw the baby boxing and every now and then she would hit herself in the head.  After the ultrasound technician told me that it was normal, my emotions went from a little concerned to relief that perhaps she's gearing up to hold her own with her sisters.

Since this is my last rodeo, I want to wait until the birth to find out the gender. However, I refer to the baby as a she, because I am convinced it's another girl.  Isabella and her friend Piper have predicted it's a little brother.  Tim believes it is another girl, but would like to to find out as soon as possible.  I wonder how this will play out.

I am going to try to blog more often, so stay tuned as the Walker kids grow from two to THREE!!!!

Fun with GG & The Fuentes

Every visit to Texas includes a little detour to Mercedes, Texas to visit my sweet Grandmother, Angelita.  To Isabella and Abigail she's GG. She's staying with my Tia Carmen, so an added bonus is spending time at a home that brought us so many memories as a child.
When we were children our families were very close, my Aunt & Uncle had three children. Rachel who was a few years older than I, and the twins who were right around my age.  I would relish the opportunity to visit them or have them visit us, it was always an adventure.  We were basically raised in a hammock similar to the one my sister is in.  My Aunt would put me and the twin in there, tie it up and let us swing.  I am sure that wouldn't fly with today's standards of over protection.

They have always had fresh produce in their homes, from oranges to papaya's.  My Aunt is a self taught culinary master of Mexican Cuisine.  We secretly hope that when we stop by there is something cooking, because it's sure to be good!

The girls and I had a wonderful visit, I am glad that they can enjoy it the same way we did.
Isabella even got to bring home her very own custom made hair bows.

Fun at Houston Zoo

During our visit to Texas we stopped in to see my cousins and their family. Since the weather was perfect, we opted for a day at the zoo.  My Tia Lala and Tio Panco came along for the ride too.

What I don't have a picture of is us eating the delicious taquitoes that my aunt made.  I can still taste the homemade tortillas, bacon, and eggs.  OMG!!!

My cousin Janie's daugther Alethea is quite the ham, always ready to pose for the camera.

The petting zoo was a big hit with all the girls.

We had a really good time, can't wait for our next visit.
